Clemson University, together with the City of Clemson, has hired a consulting firm that specializes in public transportation planning to conduct a comprehensive operational analysis of Clemson Area Transit, focusing on the off-campus routes, with a particular focus on the Red Route. The purposes of the study are to evaluate and recommend improvements to CAT’s off-campus fixed route services to accommodate the community’s existing transit needs and future growth, as well as to address current and future funding needs associated with this growth. The study tasks include an on-board survey of riders, as well as an online survey targeted to both users and non-users of public transportation in the region.
The online survey is currently open for the public to offer their opinions concerning public transportation in the Clemson area. It can be accessed here. The survey period will be open until Nov. 20.
