Clemson University’s campus recreation department is bringing back its popular Gymsitters program, which provides childcare for children ages 3 to 10 during select Clemson football games.
This year, Gymsitters will be open for the Ball State game on Sept. 8 (kick-off at 12:30 p.m.), the Furman game on Sept. 15 (kick-off at 3 p.m.) and the Homecoming game against Maryland on Nov. 10 (kick-off time TBA). Parents can drop children off at Fike Recreation Center 30 minutes prior to kick-off and pick them up immediately following the game.
Registration is $50 per child, per game, and registration must be completed by the Monday prior to game day. If space is available, registrations may be made after the Monday deadline for $60 per child. Each session is limited to 50 participants and registration is done on a first-come, first-served basis.
Children participating will receive a snack, a craft and a T-shirt.
The program is a fun and safe way for children to get the Clemson game-day experience, even if they don’t have a ticket to the game, said Susan Pope, director of fitness services and programs for campus recreation.
