Dear Clemson:

Last fall, we implemented a broad-based performance pay increase for faculty and staff, as part of our 2020 Road Map goal of recruiting and retaining top people. It was the first of a planned five-year commitment.

Dr. Judson Hair, retiree – Sept. 16, 2012

Wednesday, September 19th, 2012

Dr. Judson E. Hair, 87, of Highlands, N.C., died Sept. 16. Hair worked at Clemson from 1957-1986, serving as director of student health services and as team physician for the athletic department. He was the physician for the 1981 National Championship football team and eight ACC Championship football teams. Hair was inducted into the Clemson Athletic Hall of Fame in 2000.

A celebration of life service will be held for Mark. S. Henry, professor emeritus of applied economics, at 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 28, in Kresge Hall at the Clemson University Outdoor Lab. A reception will follow the service at the same location.

James Alexander Turner Jr., husband of Betty Turner, of Seneca, died Sunday, Sept. 2, at his home. Turner was a professor in the department of accounting in the College of Business and Behavioral Science from 1974 to 1994.
