Clemson University participates in the annual South Carolina Safe Driver Awards Program.  This year the office of risk management recognized 226 employees with a certificate and/or pin for safe driving in 2011. Ed Singleton, retiree – June 8 , 2012

Edward A. Singleton, 74, of 126 Leawood Avenue, Anderson, died Friday, June 8 at McCall Hospice House in Simpsonville. Singleton worked as an associate in building/grounds maintenance for university housing. Prior to that, he worked at Edgar’s in the University Union recreation area. He retired in 2002 after 27 years of service to Clemson.

Harold Cheatham, former dean of the College of Health, Education and Human Development, received the Distinguished Alumni Award from Pennsylvania State University. The award is the highest honor bestowed by Penn State and salutes the achievements of outstanding alumni whose personal lives, professional achievements and community service exemplify the objectives of the university.
