Byron Wiley, retiree – Nov. 27, 2011

Byron Anthony Wiley, 80, of Central, died Sunday, Nov. 27, after a prolonged struggle with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy. Wiley served as Clemson’s director of access and equity for 11 years, until his retirement in 2010.

Free Solid Orange ACC Championship Week T-shirts for students, faculty and staff

To commemorate Clemson’s ACC Atlantic Division Championship and this Saturday’s ACC Championship game against third-ranked Virginia Tech, the athletic department will be distributing more than 4,400 commemorative Solid Orange ACC Championship Week T-Shirts to full-time students, faculty and staff. Everyone is encouraged to wear their shirts on Thursday, Dec. 1.

Free tickets to men’s basketball Tuesday

The men’s basketball team will hold Faculty and Staff Night at its game against Coastal Carolina University at 9 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 22, at Littlejohn Coliseum. All Clemson faculty and staff with a valid university ID card will receive free admission to the game and a voucher for a free popcorn and Coke from the concession stands. Additional tickets may be purchased for family members for the discounted price of $10.

University approves 2012 holiday schedule

Linda W. Martin, 70, of Central, died Nov. 10. She worked as budget director in the agricultural business office of Clemson Extension from 1974 until her retirement in 2000. She earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in accounting from Clemson.

Tyler Karolczyk, student – Nov. 12, 2011

Tyler Jacob Karolczyk, 19, of Mount Pleasant, died Nov. 12 at his apartment at Chimney Ridge in Central. He was a sophomore majoring in pre-business.
