Alton L. Finley Sr., retiree – Aug. 16, 2011

Alton L. Finley Sr., 88, of Pendleton, died Friday, Aug. 16, 2011, after several years of declining health. Finley retired from custodial services in 1988 after 26 years at Clemson.

Tiger Transit launches online request system

Tiger Transit, Clemson University’s nighttime demand-response transportation service, has launched a new online system making it easier to request rides. Riders can now log on to http://tigertransit.clemson.edu to request rides to and from main campus destinations from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. every night.

A new student information portal is coming to Clemson. Over the next two years, the portal will launch to provide access to recruitment and admissions, registration, financial aid, and billing for current and prospective students, all on a mobile platform.

Bill Gravely Durham, 83, of Pickens, husband of Doris Cassell Durham, died Thursday, Aug. 18, at Cottingham Hospice House in Seneca.
